Internship Description

My internship duties include research on prospective members, filing, answering phones, and preparing documents.

Organization Overview

The North Bay Leadership Council works with over thirty employers of Marin and Sonoma Counties. These employers include professional services, non-profit employers, and educational institutions. The workforce of the North Bay Leadership Council is in excess of 20,000 people. The main goal is to achieve long-term economic sustainability and quality of life to promote a better quality of life in the North Bay.

Organization Structure and Culture

The culture of the office that I am in is very friendly. It is a small office that consists of the President/CEO of the company as well as the Vice President. Having an office that is so small provides a lot of one on one time with my supervisors. It is an organized office that works on the varying parts of each project that end up creating one large (and hopefully successful!) final event.

Career Path to Top

To attain a top level job in my organization it is important to acquire a college degree. It is also important to become involved in homeowners associations, councils, volunteer organizations, and other groups that would provide experience in public affairs and community organizations.

How My Internship Fits My Future

The North Bay Leadership Council is a group of "Employers Committed to Regional Prosperity and Quality of Life". Through this internship I am able to research large businesses and non-profit organizations that are working to make Marin County and Sonoma County better places to live. The research and communication skills that I am building will be extremely beneficial in my future careers in business. The experience of working in an office and learning from other people is also very beneficial to the growth of my personal skills.
